So I've started my cut about 6 weeks ago and it was troublesom in the beginning. I am an experienced calorie counter, and for the first two weeks I didn't really lose anything. I meal prep all my meals in advance, basically eating the same thing every day. Counted in advance.
I rarely snack during it.
This system should've been fool proof, and I should've been losing about 1kg a week. At the end of week FOUR I lost maybe that much. Also, I know people say weight fluctuates but I am very closely tracking my sodium and potassium intake as well as carbs, and I measure myself after a 12 hour fast where I piss the living hell out of myself. Even if there are fluctuations, they are minimal and the conditions are pretty much the same every time I weight myself.
I deicded something must be wrong with my TDEE so I did an experiment. I concocted a liquid diet that has all the same macros, calories and electrolytes as my previous diet, and did that for the next two weeks to see what is up with my TDEE.
Turns out, nothing is. After the initial water weight loss because I wasn't ingesting solid food, I lost exactly 2kg as predicted.
Where do you think I could've been leaking calories? I measure my meat raw, every condiment and oil I measure before using it because it's super easy when meal prepping. I can't think or anything I ate that wasn't logged.
I want to find out what the culprit is, because I sure as hell don't want to eat like a person on life support for the rest of this cut, and even though the macros are still the same, I'm not so sure about a liquid diet's other consequences like gastroparesis etc.
Do you have any ideas what it could have been?
