So I just finished W8D1 (28 min run), with a walking time/distance of 0.54 mi//18:26 pace, and a run distance of 2.09 mi/13:29 pace. Since My pace has never been below 12:30 and not below 13:00 for any distance beyond a mile, even as I continue on to the 30 min run next week, that's going to be a total run distance of 2.2 miles plus whatever walking distance (usually about .5 miles) for warm up / warm down:
To wit, that's not a 5K before I'm done.
Should I tack on more weeks to get to a 5K before I try to run a 5K? Is there a supplemental C2(almost)5K25K program? Is there a sense that whatever my timing (I'm too old an ornery to be embarrassed by any result, provided I finish) here, if I can do 40 minutes of run/walk I should be able to pop-up to a 5K distance for an actual race? I think I could do 3 miles at that pace, but also don't want to injure myself having never done 3 miles.
Comments and suggestions most welcome.
