I walked 12 miles today. Do I really have to run?

Post Body

I’m on week 3 of 8 and doing really well. Surprised how well and also how much I’ve enjoyed it all so far.

I am traveling for work which means I’m doing things that are much more physically demanding than usual while also doing touristy things as much as possible.

I missed my Monday run because it was a looooong travel day and did not want to run in a strange city late at night. I made up for it on Tuesday which was shocking due to the amount of physical labor and walking done during the day. It was a point to prove to myself and I passed with flying colors. Super happy with myself!

Well, I was going to run today (Thursday) but walked and worked way more than originally expected. I’m exhausted.

I walked 12 miles, 6 for leisure and 6 for work add also climbed 28 flights of stairs. My feet are legitimately throbbing and feel bruised with every step. I also had a pretty good cramp in my left toes twice today despite my electrolytes and water intake.

Obviously, I’m not running today as it’s midnight. I can probably make it up tomorrow afternoon/evening after a shorter day of travel but would rather rest and recover. Should I run anyway? I truly think with this workweek’s schedule and high amount of walking, I’d rather rest but I am technically capable of doing it.

I’ll just make up my postponed Friday run on Sunday which will be no problem at all.

Thoughts and advice welcome. Should I skip day 2/3 and just continue on with day 3? Or make them both up which is a big stretch for me and my poor aching feet.

Edited a missed detail.
