In vanilla hetero dating it is generally accepted that it easier for women to get dates but that they also much more prone ending up on a date with someone who means them harm. It seems to me within BDSM this even more so the case regardless of which side of slash each person is on.
Post Body

I have at two times in my life made attempts at entering the BDSM community as a male submissive but have been discouraged by how hard it seems to be to find a domme and hearing about anyone women who identify this way get flooded with messages by men who want to be their submissive and many of these people are really creepy incel types. Also how subreddits like r/gentlefemdom is mostly just lonely guys dreaming about their ideal Domme. This always seemed to me it was a more extreme version of the vanilla dating world where guys are just out here desperately trying to find a Domme, while the Dommes pick from lots of guys who want to submit to them and try to figure out which ones will try to physically assault them. It never occurred to me that men wishing to enter BDSM as a dominant face similar difficulties, but I have been watching Evie Lupine recently and stated a video of hers where she was talking about how when new subs enter BDSM a massive number of Doms want to play with them and they have to be careful to find someone who won't hurt them but when for new dominants it is very difficult to find someone to submit to them due to lack of trust. This also seems to me like a much more extreme version of dating issues in the vanilla world. I this simply because more men are interested in BDSM than women?
