Is it a good idea to use padlocks when restraining a sub?
Post Body

I've been toying with the idea of using padlocks rather than double ended clips or carabiners when securing my sub to herself or a hardpoint (bed/bench/wall etc), as her having the ability to release herself is a bit of a scene killer for me.

Safety is of paramount importance, so I'm after advice as to whether this is a good idea or not. I often see locking collars, gags and hoods, so some people must do it.

I'm not on about suspension or anything like that - simply locking a spreader bar on, or locking her to a spanking bench etc.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated!
