(Edit: Formatting) Hey folks, tl;dr: 24/M/Dom looking for reliable & insightful mentor. Ideally, a like-minded individual with a fair amount of experience both in the technical & emotional aspects of BDSM. I would like to have someone to learn from, but also someone I can trust with the more intimate or personal details. --- Advice, resources, reference material, referrals are all welcome and greatly appreciated.
Before anyone asks, yes I've read /u/Darr_Syn 's Mentoring post. And a fair amount of his other related posts as well.
A little about me: I'm a 24 year old guy, living up North. I've been aware of being kinky pretty early on into my sexual maturity, have been actively researching kink since 16-17, and actively practicing kink for around 3 years now. Specifically kink things I'm interested in: Consent & Safety (I'm a fan of RACK and PRICK), Domination, rope bondage, moderate sadism (flogging, wax, spanking to name a few), and breath play.
As far as experience goes, I would say I'm somewhere between Novice and Apprentice. I had a (semi-dedicated) sub for a couple years, and levels of play together ranged from very light S/M (spanking, biting, manual restraint, etc) to more intensive play (rope bondage, flogging, knife play, sub-space, etc.) We've since broken up -fairly amicably- but were dating for a while, and as she was a much more experienced sub than I am a Dom, did a fair amount of gently guiding me through scenes, or helping set up so I felt confident running them myself.
What I'm looking for in a mentor (Online or Local): Someone willing to engage in long term discourse, patient, open minded, with a fair amount of experience with both physical stuff and emotional aspects of stuff (anything from self-care & after-care to working out emotional issues through kink), willing to share their experiences, willing to talk about my experiences & help me figure out my needs/plans/course-work. I have no particular preference regarding age/gender/sex/kinks.
I think it should go without saying, I would love to have a mentor I feel I can be friends with. While I'm not sure what I can/would bring to the table in an Mentor/Apprentice relationship, at the very least I would like the dynamic to be enjoyable for both of us. If you're someone who likes teaching others -especially those with a voracious appetite for knowledge- then I think we might be a good fit!
I said it once and I'll say it again: Advice, Critique, Reference Materials, Comments, Questions, Resources, Referrals, Applications are all welcome, and very much appreciated. If this sounds like something for you, please do comment, or PM me!
Cheers, -- Sorro
