Beginner rope bondage advice

Hello,
I want to start with very light rope bondage play. There is a wooden pole right next to my bed. I want my gf to lie on the bed on her back and then tie her hands together and onto her pole.
Any advice on how to do that without embarrassing and killing the mood the first time? Any resources you can recommend? Thanks!
