I’ve been in the BDSM scene for a while now, and one thing I’ve always wondered is if there are Doms who can dominate just as intensely with deep emotional connection. My experiences so far have mostly been with Doms who prefer to keep things strictly physical, separate from emotions or feelings, and that’s fine for many dynamics. But for me, the more emotionally connected I feel to someone, the deeper my submission goes.
I’ve always thought that emotions and BDSM can enhance each other—that having strong feelings for my Dom makes me want to submit even more. But most Doms I’ve encountered seem to keep a wall between the emotional and the Dom/sub dynamic, as if having feelings would lessen their ability to dominate or be firm with me.
So my question is, are there Doms out there who can thrive on that emotional connection while still maintaining control? Doms who feel empowered by the feelings we share, and use that to make the experience even more intense and meaningful? Or is that balance harder to find in the BDSM world?
I’m curious to hear from others who’ve been in emotionally connected D/s relationships. How did it change the dynamic for you?
