Handling photos/videos (privacy, storage, etc.)?

More of a tech question, but I figured this community would have experience- How do you handle pics/vids when you

Want them to be accessible (for texting to someone, for example)
Don't want them in your main camera roll (no risk of showing someone a puppy and having them swipe right and see your 🐈)
Have so many, your phone is giving you storage alerts?

I'm using a Google Pixel and they do have a PIN-protected folder option ("vault") but any photos moved into that folder still count towards storage use and also are not accessible to send.

Is there some Secret Slut Method I'm missing, or do I really have to spend hours agonizing on the perfect masturbation clips to keep or delete?
