I did a triathlon last weekend, and my god, I'm feeling all the feelings from that pain driven endorphin high and marvelling at how similar the last leg of the race felt like an intense CNC session, where there just wasn't an option to say "please, dear god, no more."

It hurt every time I took another step forward? Too bad, be a good girl and keep up with your pace. It was hard to even get take another breath? Well, you consented three months ago, so keep fucking going. Someone right outside the transition area actually had the gall to wave a glittery sign with "Just remember you signed up for this!" on the last mile of the run. Seriously screw you, but also, thanks for the encouragement.

I was so close to not making it across the finish line before giving into that all-encompassing, aching, thrumming, beautiful discomfort. And then, exquisite peace. My mind and body had never been such perfect harmony, just floating through the mud and unpaved roads as if carried about by an invisible force.

Anyways, I'm pretty certain that I found subspace during a race. Anyone else have a similar experience?
