How long I need to wear shackles before they become uncomfortable?

After waking up this morning, I put on a pair of heavy stainless steel shackles, handcuffed my hands at my belly button, and then watched the TV series Fallout with my girlfriend.
For about five hours, I didn't feel uncomfortable except that I had to walk slower when I went to pee.
I kind of regretted spending money on this pair of shackles. It's not cheap, but the restraint is not strong. Maybe it's because I wore it for too short a time? How long will it take for me to feel pain?
