Stopping impact play right before breaking?

Hey yall, this is a bit of a random question but I want to be spanked/flogged until I break and start crying but every time I engage in that form of play I will stop the scene right before I hit that point because it feels overwhelming. I feel like I genuinely need to break down and let it out though and I don’t know how to push through it to get to that point does anyone have any suggestions or pointers?
