A Possible Bridge Between Reality and Fantasy
Post Body

Good morning everyone. I hope you're having a pleasant lazy Sunday so far. Getting right to the point, let me state that I absolutely love roleplay. As a former professional actor, I am no stranger to the art of stepping into another person's shoes, and I can say that the excitement and freedom that comes from doing that in the bedroom is an absolute kinky blast. Unfortunately, it seems like a good deal of people who like the idea of this are too afraid to try it. I see plenty people making requests for online text-based roleplay partners, but I almost never see people looking for IRL roleplay, and I have a pretty good thought as to why. Quite simply, acting and improvisation are hard and can be very embarrassing. Even as an experienced professional actor, I still find the art to be daunting sometimes, so someone who has little to no experience probably finds the experience to be a little awkward or completely uncomfortable. Well, I might have come up with a possible solution to this dilemma.

A few months ago, I decided to give text-based roleplay a try, and the experience was undoubtedly educational and interesting. Unfortunately, I found it to be a bit of a tease with no payoff, like learning about and smelling the delicious aromas of a meal you're never going to get to eat, but the experience opened my eyes to just how much context and a slow build can amplify a kinky encounter. This realization got me thinking. What if you combine the positives of both in sort of a hybrid roleplay. You and a partner would come up with a scene that you both find absolutely titillating, and then over the course of a day, a couple days, or weeks, depending on your schedule and how involved you are, you and your partner would play out an in depth text based roleplay. All of the character, motives, interactions, locations, and build up, would be done in these text interactions. Because it's just text, you can do literally anything and are not limited by time or means. Also, since it's text, you can take the time to actually think out your responses and process what's happening, so you don't have to worry about the awkward moment of not knowing what to say, that is oh so prevalent in live improvisation. Finally, when the story has reached its climactic scene where the characters are going to finally do the do, that is when you and your partner would meet up and act the scene out in person. Having already established all of the backstory, character relations, and context, playing out the scene should be a walk in the park. Yeah it might be a little awkward at first, especially if you're playing a character that is very different to how you are as a person, but already having all the backstory and motives established means that you can actually reference things that both people involved will know and understand their implications. In other words, rather than awkwardly put on a costume and try to think of kinky things to say, you can just keep doing what you've already been doing and saying over text, just in person.

I fully acknowledge that role play is not nor will it ever be for everyone. Some people just don't like playing pretend, and that's perfectly fine. However, I can tell you that there is an enormous amount of excitement and freedom that comes with playing a character, and I honestly want more people to give themselves the chance to experience it. When done right, acting allows you to do and say things, without real world consequence, that you would otherwise never say as yourself, and that experience is one of the most freeing feelings you will ever have the pleasure of knowing.

So, what do you think?
