Hi. I have been working on a scene idea which involves the temporary piercings and a ribbon tied between them to look like a corset lacing. If you have any thoughts, lessons learned, advice, I would love to hear it.

My questions at the moment: What gauge needle? I was thinking probably a 18 gauge for the needle. It would be probably a proper piercing needle that removes the skin.

Jewelery to tie to? I was thinking just small round loop earrings that open in half, and kind of just friction fit. These could hold the ribbon nicely.

Hypodermic needle vs piercing needle? I know a hypodermic needle will heal better with less change of a mark after, but I assume you also cannot really put a piercing jewelery into the hole ? Or is it ok to use jewelery in a hole jat hasn't had a plug of skin removed ? I'm sure it would be fine, but maybe just harder to put the jewelry threw. I've seen people not use jewelery at all and just thread the fabric around the needles but that's not what I want to do.

What kind of fabric strand would be best and pretty and soft for this application.
