At what point in your dynamic did vows become involved?

I’m curious to hear from those who have vows and are in an established dynamic. At what stage did vows become involved in your dynamic?
Were they a part of the courtship/trial process? Did they become integrated later on? How often do you share them? How private are the words or phrases or actions?
