Going to my first event - any tips?

Just as the title says, I'm (39f) going to my first proper event tomorrow & wondered if anyone has any advice or tips that would be useful to know, please?

I'm very new to the whole scene (in the UK, if that's relevant?) but have been to sone local munches & met some people who are also going to the same event tomorrow, so at least there should be some friendly faces. I have got some advice from them too, some specific to that event but some general too. I'm really excited to be going (if a bit nervous!) but figure that the more information I have ahead of time, the better! So - any tips please?
