Faceslap motivation

I realised, that I’m a big fan of a Faceslaps (as a Dom, I want to give it, but not to receive, obviously).
For sure, I’m not speaking about heavy-damaging faceslaps, but the ones that leave red skin for the next couple minutes.
How would you recommend to approach a “junior-sub”, not to scary away and to explain, that it’s just a fetish, but no disrespect or smth like that.
