If there's a possibility that I run into a client from work at an event, should I not go?
Post Body

Hi everyone! First time poster, long time lurker here! I have an odd question and I'm hoping for some insight/guidance..

There's an event tomorrow in my area, and I really want to go. Honestly, I've never been to an event before (been in the lifestyle for a while now, but social anxiety always prevented me from going,) but this one sounded like so much fun! So, anyways.. I work in the addiction/mental health field in a position similar to a counselor (I'm a peer support specialist, if anyone knows what that is.) I was looking through the RSVP list on Fet and saw that a client is attending as well. I should note that she's NOT on my caseload, so I've never worked with her 1 on 1, but she's been in my groups and we've had casual conversations before.

I don't want to make her uncomfortable and I don't want to feel uncomfortable either. I know we'd both be there for the same reason/interests, but yeah..

Should I just sit this one out?

Any suggestions/input is greatly appreciated!
