Self-Collaring?
Post Body

Hey guys. Long time lurker. Honestly just looking for some insight. I'm not currently in any kind of BDSM-oriented dynamic. In the last few months, I've thought about self-collaring as a way to fulfill that missing piece - the desire to feel owned and held accountable, as well as just in general loving the feeling and the familiarity that day collars (or eternity collars) give to me. It's a nice constant in my day that really helps keep myself centered sometimes.

I'm not really planning on getting an Eternity collar as I just feel that's a bit too much for me right now (money wise and also just too obvious for people "in the know"). I know self-collaring can be a thing (as anything can be in BDSM), and I've looked on Etsy and found one I really like.

However, I'm kind of insecure a bit on making this decision. Not only does it feel a bit "fake" since i don't have an "owner" (and not looking for one), but it also almost would feel like maybe a disservice to some other relationships that have proper collaring? I don't know. I know I'm overthinking it, but I guess I'm just asking if anyone has ever self-collared before, and what you did/ect? I have some ideas of what I'd like mine to go like if I chose to do this (write down promises to myself, goals, ect.) But i was just wondering if anyone has really done this before and could shed some light on what it meant to YOU and if it helped you focus, ect? Im in a transition point in my life and I could definitely use something concrete like this to help myself keep on track.
