Last night I was hooking up with a guy I met from a kink party. We participated in a light blood flow play, gently putting pressure on one side of my neck. It was very hot and exhilarating… maybe for like 10-15 seconds and two instances of the play moment. But I was curious about neck play in general as a newbie sub myself and it sounds like this really isn’t something that is ever NOT risky because there’s the risk of stroke and cardiac arrest if you continuously mess with the artery flow in the neck, even for a little bit. It could become a habit and maybe that’s where the real risk lies, because the more you do it, the more easy it is to get carried away versus taking off any pressure-play-on-neck completely off the table.
What should I tell this guy? I’d like to see him again. Part of me is like, maybe he could just place a hand on my throat and barely press for a second, but no gradual application of pressure that increases in intensity, even if they would be short bursts?
I guess my biggest fear is this guy doesn’t care about consent because I just met him and he was comfortable doing this but only because he knew I was into dominant and submissive power play with me being the sub. Which would be a bummer but c’est la vie.
My thoughts are: he placed a hand on my neck and we both got off on how wild it made me. If I take this off the table, he won’t feel fulfilled. But at that point, who gives a f*ck, right?
TL;DR hooked up with a new friend from the scene, we knew we were into kinky shit / D&s, had some neck play and really enjoyed it but the light blood flow play probably can’t be our thing moving forward. At least while we get to know each other and establish trust. How do I communicate this to him? Any red flags I should look out for?
