Anxious about subbing irl

I [M] have subbed for dommes online for a couple years now and I’m quite intrigued about subbing in real life but I find myself feeling anxious about all of the ways it could go wrong.
I worry about being robbed or something along those lines (or worse). How do you, subs in general, get past those feelings?
I don’t plan on meeting up without meeting them in person and would still vet them - I guess I’m worried about getting fooled and them hiding who they really are or what their end game is.
