I am a switch and I've been noticing lately that a fair number of people, both doms and subs, are not interested in switches. I was talking to a dom recently for about a week online. Seemed very compatible, then when the topic of other fantasies came up, I mentioned that mine involve domming. Immediately ghosted. I've also talked to subs who said they would never let someone who had subbed before be their dom.
I guess I'm trying to understand the mindset here. I tend to trust switches more because they have experienced both sides. What is your perspective on this? Is this common or am I just unlucky? Should I lie and say I'm just a dom or a sub depending who I'm talking to? That doesn't feel right to me. But people having switches as a hard limit doesn't seem right either
Edit: I should clarify, when I say lie, I don't mean to deceive someone maliciously, just to play into a possible fantasy of someone who only likes those who play one side.
