Advice on Anal and what to do?

So me (24M) have been wanting to do anal with my gf (22F) since we started dating. The other day she decided that she wanted me and her to try it. Problem was we had no lube and well I’m not packing what so ever, we also had no knowledge of how to go about it as we just tried doing doggy and so really struggled even getting the tip to go in as it’s soft. Basically I’m trying to ask for some advice on what positions could be good for smaller sizes and what products to use if needed.
