This hit me strange and I thought I’d ask some experts what they thought. I cooked a super bowl dinner and invited a bunch of friends over to share. A woman from work, that I have known for a long time and who has been to my parties before was excited to introduce me to her 6 month boyfriend who happens to be a Chef in a fairly high end restaurant. He sat at the island in the kitchen and him and I chatted while I prepared the appetizers and set them out and we continued to visit while I finished the ribs and baked beans and got the potatoe salad out of the fridge. So while everybody was serving themselves buffet style I noticed that he kept whispering to the woman that I know and they didn’t really eat very much other than packaged food. I asked her afterwards and she told me that he didn’t think my food prep was very safe and so he suggested they eat somewhere after the party and she said that he has done this at various other peoples houses and at other events. It really bothered me that somebody would do this, I think I keep a clean kitchen and as far as I know I’ve never made anybody sick and people quite often talk about how good my food is so never having had any complaints I’m curious, would this be a common “chef” type behavior?
