Is it "safe" to eat uncooked abalone that was frozen?
Post Body

I saw some frozen abalone at a Chinese grocery store. I grabbed them on a whim because they seemed like a cheap experiment at $10 for 5 smallish abalone.

Is it common to serve once frozen abalone raw? I really want to try some sushi tasting experiments. I don't know if it is typically considered safe to serve raw defrosted abalone.

I reckon that these abalone were farmed. They're from China if that helps.
