I was making some filling for turkey pot pie out of Thanksgiving leftovers. Everything was going nicely until I started adding some whipping cream to add some body. The stuff passed the sniff test. I decided to add a bit more cream later and this dollop of thick schmoo poured out.
It didn't look like a typical chunky curd, it was more like a blob of thick stuff approximating snot consistency.
Does fat sometimes settle out of whipping cream and get thicker? I tried tasting some of the stuff, but frankly I find cream disgusting to begin with as a straight ingredient. It didn't taste ultra bad like bad milk I've tasted before but I can't say it tasted "good". I'm not very familiar with whipping cream really.
Did I end up polluting my turkey pie filling?
