Stabilized and smooth mascarpone frosting for a layered cake?

My best friend has asked me to make his wedding cake and specifically requested a cake I made for his birthday two years ago. This cake is made with mascarpone frosting though and it will give me anxiety thinking about the possibility of layers sliding around in the heat on the way to the wedding.

Anyone have good tips to stabilize mascarpone frosting?
