Chocolate cake with vanilla pastry cream?

Post Body

I’m making my birthday cake this weekend, and was thinking of using vanilla pastry cream between the layers of chocolate cake (combining my two favorite things). When I was looking for inspiration though, I didn’t find much other than suggestions for Boston cream, which isn’t what I want. Is there a reason it’s not a popular combo? Just want to avoid serving a disaster - I can always eat them separately lol!
