I'm happy I can see now when an attempt is being made to gaslight me.
My WH has a babysitter app on his phone. He's been allowing me "full access to everything" but... when I try to assert myself or take some space, he'll consistently change a password or turn 2FA back on and conveniently not see the prompts.
This weekend we had a fight about me needing space for my mental and physical health. After this fight, he changed his Facebook password and uninstalled the babysitter app. When I emailed him to confront him about it, he said "why, what's wrong with the app"? When we talked an hour later, he said he uninstalled it because it made his phone not work (10 weeks into having it).
I didn't catch it at the time. We talked on the phone last night and I let him have his excuses... his phone didn't work, he would install a different app, he thought I'd be ok without his Facebook password since I was taking space... but this morning I remembered the email. "Why, what's wrong with the app??"
He pretended to not know what was happening with the app to get me to engage him. While talking he admitted he uninstalled it only AFTER I caught him via his Google activity log. It's so subtle. It happened so seamlessly I nearly missed it.
Got you, you manipulative fucker.
