As a mentor, I enjoy empowering younger employees to develop their strengths by offering supportive guidance and constructive feedback. I create a safe space for them to develop their careers. My goal is to help them grow into confident, independent problem solvers. I have a reputation for being a patient, supportive development-minded leader.
Every once in a while, I'll have a female employee who sends the signals that she's interested in... more. "When are we going to get drinks?" "Are you coming out with us after work?" Etc. I think the mentor relationship can be a very intoxicating thing for a lot of people.
I never ever ever act on it or even allude to the idea that I'd be open to it - first, it's probably illegal, second, taking advantage of a power dynamic at work like that is wrong.
But it doesn't mean I don't want to.
What I'm looking for:
In my mind, you're starting out in your career and looking for a mentor. Someone who will make time for you, give you feedback, really help you with your goals and growth and development. I sincerely want to help you this way, if nothing else.
We can start out doing 1/1s and talking about your goals and what you're looking to do.
If it goes any further than that, it'll be a natural thing - we won't push it.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, hit me up.
