My name is Will. I’ve been fishing for a little while but haven’t found the right fish for me, though I have met many wonderful people.

About me:

Kids: I don’t want kids, ever (empty nesters are perfectly fine; I just don’t want to live with kids or with someone raising them). Wanted to say this first to save people some time. If you are on the fence about this, then go ahead and assume you want them. I don’t want to be in a relationship and then my partner later decide she does want kids. That would be the end of us, so let’s avoid that potential heartbreak altogether.

Tv/movies: I don’t always watch tv, but when I do, I watch Kdramas (the good ones, not the cliché ones).

With movies, I’m down with anything that isn’t old, low-budget, or just plain boring/bad. There are exceptions of course. Some old movies are great, and some low-budget films are absolute gems. I made my living room into a respectable, blacked-out home theater because I’m a nerd about that stuff. I’m happy with what I’ve done with the place and I’m sure you would be too. I have photos if you’re curious.

Video games: I love action/adventure games, platformers, pole playing games (not really into MMORPG’s, but I’ll make an exception for FFXIV if you’re into it), racing games, and story/movie games (a la Uncharted 4). Some of my favorite series are Mario (including Mario kart; beat me at this and I’m yours forever 😌), Zelda (save for BOTW 🤷‍♂️), and Final Fantasy (let’s play through FFX together 😊) among others. I don’t do PC games or FPS games. If you’re mainly into those, then we won’t share many gaming interests.

Alcohol: I drink on the weekends, but not to the point of drunkenness. One doesn’t have to get wasted to have a good time. I don’t want someone who doesn’t drink. Even if you’re good company, it’s no fun to be the only one drinking on a drinking night. You don’t have to be a fish; just don’t be a desert.

Weed: I smoke daily, but not in the cliche sense. Either you’re okay with weed, or you aren’t. This one doesn’t need much more elaboration tbh lol.

Politics: Apolitical. I simply believe that everyone should be allowed all the same rights and abilities, and that all who intend harm on others, in any form, should face appropriate punishment. But I’m aware we live in a world governed by humans, so “hopes” and “realistic expectations” are often two different things, unfortunately.

Sex: Might as well go ahead and address this early on so that neither of us would seem “forward” in asking certain things in the first phases of getting to know each other. Have you ever had intimacy so good that you cried tears of joy due to the emotional elation? Yeah, me neither. Do you want intimacy so good that you cry tears of joy due to the emotional elation? Yeah, me too. But that level of emotional connection can’t occur before love; and love can’t occur before friendship; and friendship can’t occur before chemistry; and chemistry is what we establish in the very beginning. Either it’s there, or it’s not. If it is, then I believe the rest will fall in place as it will. But know, that the quicker that ‘our first time’ happens in a relationship, the more shallow it is. That ‘first time’ only happens once. Treat it with respect and it will yield great returns, the likes of which neither of us will be able to even imagine. Also, relationships are typically most ‘active’ at the outset and then things sort of settle down. I’d be okay with it just being a ‘weekends’ kinda thing if that’s more your speed. Cookies are sweet, but they lose their sweetness after a while when you repeatedly have one every single day.

Beliefs: I have my own beliefs regarding spiritual matters, but I’m going to wait to divulge on that until we get to know each other. My beliefs may differ from others, and I don’t want any preconceived notions tainting what could otherwise be a prosperous connection with someone. Know though, that no one should force their beliefs on anyone, and I’m no different.

Body: I’m in okay shape, but not great. But like many, I’m on a fitness journey. So my body’s days of me being in sub-par shape are numbered. You don’t have to be in shape, but it would be a nice plus if you and I could be jogging partners. There’s just something incredibly wholesome about that imo. No matter your weight, please at least be HWP. This is a non-negotiable for me.

Time for a cheesy-ass metaphor:

I want a relationtrain, not a relationship.

Yes, the train must first be inspected by us make sure it has all the things we both look for (this is the beginning stages of chemistry), and it does take a while to get up to speed (this is the beginning of both the relationship and the slow but steady growing of love). But once it’s at speed, a train becomes an unstoppable force that nothing can stand in the way of. Whereas even though a sports car reaches high speeds quickly, it doesn’t carry anywhere near as much momentum as a train, and it also becomes highly unstable rather quickly.

A relationsportscar is a quickly-gained, quickly-lost experience.

A relationtrain is a slowly-gained, never-lost experience.

Although both terms are admittedly a bit cheesy, one of these is far better than the other. 🤷‍♂️
