I’ve finally settled into a comfortable niche in northern Virginia, stuck in posh suburbia (the slum section thereof, but still posh!). My Canadian friend stated that I am a “perfect manly man” - which made me laugh, thinking of my androgynous younger days - explaining that I am “gentle, sweet” and “non-toxic,” with an “old fashioned” sensibility. Finishing with the simple statement that I am the “opposite of an asshole.” I was rather floored, but have no idea how to describe myself as to personality and approach to people, so this will do.

I’m knowledge driven, interested in natural processes, in the relationships that exist or can be manufactured between and among things and people, in inventions and machines, in the way people work physically/mentally/emotionally, and in whatever interesting thing just popped up.

I’m also drawn to the outdoors, to music, to learning how to absorb video drama, to good food, and great conversations.

Currently, my more-intellectual pursuits include learning and hypothesizing about dinosaur air passages and sacks (and other dinosaur things), designing a neo-Brescian viola (which I will make one of eventually), and absorbing art from the perspective of what it does to me, how it changes me. I’m also playing more piano, currently working on “The Meadow” from Twilight, “A River Flows Through You,” and Bella’s Lullaby (my own, Am, F, G, Am plus an E G A Am segment).

In the physical world, I’m finishing up a violin bow restoration, making a lapstrake canoe, enjoying cycling, and starting to plan adventures, including backpacking, pack canoe trips, birding, and wondering where I want to visit this year. Last year the highlights were Belize and Cape May, NJ on birding / adventure trips. I’ll soon be riding very frequently, get out my motorcycle (which will fit 2), go out kayaking and canoeing, and probably birding. I also enjoy very much massage, and will give the right feet a gentle strong workover.

I’m looking for someone to share some of my world with, and to share theirs. Age is not important. I'm flexible with relationship status. I tend to be attracted to, or to attract, people at the edges. Not everyone at every edge. The ADHD edge, people on the spectrum, I resonate with, and generally like me. Although a nice neurotypical companion would be a welcome relief! Wednesday and less extreme manifestations of the dark end greatly appeal. Someone who might like an occasional visit to The Crucible, and enjoy . . . well. Interesting things, inquire. I am a total sucker for the Enid end of the world, and have experience with adults who dress like cotton candy, are way too cute, and enjoy ice cream dates. Right now, this Saturday night, I’d really enjoy simply having a nice salmon dinner, watching something fun, and burning a load of wood in the fireplace.

Education: BA Anthropology, MS/PhD Geology (structural/tectonics), JD (Advocacy), bench trained in violinmaking.

Key point: I have a cute little dog, a Parson's Terrier, with a bent ear and lots of enthusiasm.
