Post Body

Hi,

I was having so many issues with my dad, he is toxic, controlling and manipulative. He wanted to control my bank accounts, wanted to know where I went (he put a tracker in my car) and we would have fights every month. Then they would put on a show for 2 weeks where they pretend to be super nice and then the cycle repeats again.

This time when he crossed the boundary by putting a tracker in my car I was DONE, I told them enough is enough and I am leaving their house. I started applying for apartments and I finally got one 2 weeks after the fight. At this stage they are trying to convince me so hard to not move, they are crying every day, begging me and pulling me around to hug me and s**t, they are again trying to manipulate me.

I have 3 weeks till I get to move into my apartment.

Should I tell them a week before or the sooner the better?

How do I deal with them for 3 weeks if they try to convince me and blackmail me? If you’ve had this chat with your parents when you moved out? What’s the worst I can expect?

I can’t wait to move out for my mental health but they have 0 care for my mental health and they just want me to keep staying with them even when I’m suffering.

I just want to know how your chat went with your parents when you told them that you got an apartment and you’ve signed the lease.

Thanks,

Sit them down. Tell them you’ve got an apartment and you’re moving out the next day. End of conversation.

Then get on with your own life and don’t put other people’s emotions before your own.
