Hey folks, I started giving to India COVID relief efforts on Sunday and have been keeping track of my donations here on Twitter. Some of the donations don't have receipts because I haven't had time to go back and screenshot all of them. Some of the receipts are pretty nondescript too.
If you want a quick easy way to give, I recommend AID India, an incredible organization with lots of on-the-ground presence and focus on underprivileged folks.
If you want to know why I'm doing this, I'm figuring that out myself too. I wrote a LinkedIn and Facebook post as well with a bit more detail and would love if you could share those too.
I am extremely privileged. I have 10 years of experience with most of that at Google, I will make my money back so I am not trying to set an example here. Give what you can. I lost an uncle recently and my family is shook up and I am in robot mode trying to feel less helpless.
If you're in Singapore or coordinating oxygen concentrator supply through Singapore please ping me on Twitter (I rarely check reddit).
If you're anywhere and interested in mental health, turning donations into a meme or just social media blasts in general, also ping me on Twitter (@__saurya__).
If you are just taking care of you and staying healthy, do that too, the world needs healthy people.
If you are a wacko like me and decide to join me on my emptying-of-savings...please make sure you're in a highly lucrative industry where you can make it back and no one is depending on you. If you're in tech as a software engineer, data scientist or product manager, please reach out to me. I am also hiring globally for my dev consultancy as I am overburdened at work. I pay well, I promise!
