High reps on last week of training

I'm in the last week of my first cycle and on the 1 set, I did 10 reps for bench and 12 reps for deadlift. I know the 531 philosophy is slow, turtle like progress to avoid stalling, but 10-12 reps feels a little too high. My 1 for press and squat is in the 5-7 rep range.
And if I were to raise the training Max, should I start with testing a new 1RM?
