I’ve been fat for my whole life, but throughout the past year I’ve finally lost all the weight and gone from obese to a normal weight. I used to be 5’10” 255 pounds and now I’m 165 pounds. I keep losing weight but my face is still super chubby (extremely noticeable and has been pointed out) and I definitely still have some belly and thigh fat left, my arms are skinny though.
I started at a small deficit originally and ended up to where I am right now, where I eat 1200 calories daily. I know one of the options would be to lean bulk but I’m super scared of getting fat again since I was fat for practically my whole life. I haven’t started lifting weights yet but I want to go in with a good plan.
Is it possible to gain some muscle or reduce this skinny fat physique while eating 1200 calories still? I know newbie gains are a thing but I’m not sure. Also am I even skinny fat or just fat, how do I know the difference? I believe I am at 25 percent body fat currently using the navy method and my eyes.

This is the fastest route to stop being skinnyfat but you should switch to eating normally once you've got there since you can put on more weight with bulk/cut routine. Leangains will just make you look less flabby faster.
