Problem with running Renegade on zx spectrum +2

Hi guys,
Finally got myself a Spectrum and really want to play this port of Renegade after hearing so many good things about it.
After loading the tape, I see the Renegade loading screen with a timer which after counting down I am taken to a grey screen with “copyright 1982 Amstrad”. All other games I’ve bought will load and work fine. Is this a faulty tape or is there anything else I can try?
