I went to my Hausarzt a few days ago and noticed they were not wearing a mask. They asked me why I was wearing one and when I said that many of my coworkers recently caught Corona and became quite ill even though they are boosted, the doctor laughed and said there’s no need for masks and catching it is even better for their immunity. (Which doesn’t seem to be a fully scientifically up to date view)
I was quite taken aback. Later I found out that, according to the current guidelines, doctors are allowed to disregard the Maskenpflicht in the clinic. Of course, I understand the doctor isn’t doing anything wrong and I respect their choice.
Apart from not going back to this doctor if I don’t feel comfortable, I’m guessing that not much can be done. But is this view very common now among the doctors in (Stadt) Zürich? Is your Hausarzt like this too?
Aside: As I am now looking for a new Hausarzt I’d also appreciate recs for a good Hausarzt, who doesn’t mind wearing a mask and isn’t always fully booked for the next 3 weeks.
