I’ve been on 25mg Sertraline for about 4 years. I’ve never really had any issues and it calmed down my anxiety.
About 6 months ago I started having weird sensations in my chest - like pressure - and was diagnosed with reflux.
I went on Omeprazole and at the same time decided to stop my Sertraline. I stopped cold turkey because I was only on half a tablet a day.
Over the following 4 weeks I developed really bad brain fog and feelings like I was going to pass out. I stopped the Omeprazole and on my GP’s advice I restarted Sertraline, but I took it patchily - every other day or every three days.
I’ve taken it the last two days and today I had the first ever thing that I think could be a ‘brain zap’.
It felt like someone stuck an electrode on the right side of my head - a buzzing feeling like on the skull, and then it arced over my head to the left side, and I felt a jolt like when you almost fall asleep and jump. Then it faded and now I have a horrible crawling feeling in the skin under my scalp and my eyes feel tired and blurry.
Is that a brain zap? It was fucking horrible.
