I read on this reddit about some people experiencing issues sleeping due to their body thinking their blood sugar was too low, and thus pumping adrenaline to make "emergency sugar". I have been doing keto for ~2 weeks and switched to ZC a few days ago, but the last week I have been having major issues falling asleep w/o melatonin. I suddenly become quite awake around 8-9 PM, so I think this is happening to me.
I would rather not becoming dependent on melatonin. Is this something that should fade with time, do I have to take some carbs before bed, or is there something else I can do? I cannot arrive to work excessively tired every day, yet I'd rather skip on the carbs. I am already taking magnesium.
Update: eating an hour before sleep seems to help a lot. Thanks everyone!
