Proxy debug help (v6.4, was working perfect in v5.4)
Post Body

FIXED (left here for others), problem was the Proxy database NAME and location, we had to use "DBName=/tmp/zabbixproxy.db" we tried /etx/zabbix/zabbix_proxy.db, it wouldnt connect, the idea being to keep all the data in the same place, the above tmp location was used in v5.4, so we copied it, and its working now (with all the PSK encryption as it was in v5.4)....

SHORT QUESTIONHow do we enable logging on the Zabbix v6.4 server to see if its getting any connect requests on port 10051, we have a proxy thats all new not checking in and traffic shows flow all the way to the zabbix server, we believe this is where the issue is (the server itself).

Hi, we have Zabbix v5.4 working perfect with remote proxies using PSK...

  • Have installed a new v6.4 server from scratch (no copy / paste of anything), ubuntu v22.04)
  • Remotely created a new ubuntu (v22.04) and manually installed the Proxy SQLITE3 and manually configured (with correct known working settings)
  • Its never showing up in the new v6.4 server under Administration > Proxies says "last seen = never".
  • The new v6.4 server is on the same IP address as the old one (we shut the old one down, we didnt want to change too much while testing as we KNOW v5.4 works fine)

We have tried removing the PSK (TLSConnect=unencrypted) = no fix (while also changing the proxy setup in the server to also not be encrypted)

We know the proxy is attempting to connect as we see it on the hardware perimeter firewall thats in front of the v6.4 server (we see port 10051 allow traffic through from the correct remote IP address, and yes the old proxy is also shut down on that site)

We have turned off the firewall on the ZABBIX server, also no fix.... so now we want to check if traffic is arriving to the zabbix port 10051 and for what ever reason zabbix is dumping the traffic.
