Why are people constantly looking for other redittors in their area to duel, etc?

I've seen like 10 "anybody from _______?" posts that contribute nothing to the overall sub, take up space on the front page, and have no comments because people are going to be hesitant to answer (not complete, but partly) strangers on the Internet.
It's best if you use konami's list of local tournaments, found here, look for a shop in your state near you, and find people there.
You can also use the "find redittors at your locals" link in the sidebar to find people easier.
