A friend and I were at locals yesterday. It's been a full year and we decided then and there that we need to move onto another hobby. Before when we would duel each other, it was way more balanced and building decks had more thought into it than playing competively. People will literally only look up deck profiles and buy their way into the meta. My friend and I decided the amount of money we put into the game has been more than enough and we are not seeing the fun in the game anymore. One thing positive I can say about this whole experience with Yugioh after one year is that I have met some great people and the online commmunity here is beyond helpful to understanding the game. I am selling most of the cards I use to get some money back. I'm not liking this current format of duels being only 2-4 turns long. I know I'm sounding like a sore loser to some extent but when you see it in financial terms, some people are just buying to win and I just don't see the fun there. Maybe I should wait for the next ban list before I leave but man do I think the game is broken. And with this whole new link summoning, I don't know if that will even make me leave and never come back for sure or if it will balance and slow the game down the way I wanted it to. Either way, for now I think I'll just sell some cards. Hopefully I can get a fraction of what I paid so far. Thanks for reading.
