New Controls on Apple TV Remote

Just this week, my remote suddenly removed the play/pause button from the main circle dial "center button". I'm now only able to pause my show by pushing the separate dedicated button further down the remote. This is not intuitive at all. I keep hitting that center dial and it's rewinding 10 seconds. Is there a way to change this back?
