Why is youtube always adding features that makes the app more annoying to use?

Tf went trough their head when they made the quality select feauture? You have to click through and go to "advanced" to select 1080. How is that advanced? And I selected "higher quality" as standard and youtube thinks 360 to 480 is "high quality"? For fuck sake let me set whatever standard I want. Absolute garbage.
