Related to my other post, I'm trying to understand how such a plethora of 24 hour live streaming radio stations (aka pirate radio stations) operate on YouTube.
Question 1:
I've studied their guidelines and features on copyright to know that if these stations do not have the permission to play all these songs, they'll get flagged, marked, or banned rather quickly. Yet, hundreds of these stations seem to exist as seen by this Google search How do they work? What's the catch? Is it an endless game of whack'a'mole?
Question 2:
Alternatively, there are similar YouTube accounts where all they do is post other people's music. Here is a great example. How can they work without getting flagged for posting copyrighted music? Surely this channel does not have permission from the hundreds of labels that they are promoting from.
While they do say "All tracks are uploaded in a low quality (128kbps or lower) for promotional purposes only, to respect label and artists. Each video contains all buy links of the most popular webstores when can you support and buy the tracks." from my understanding of YouTube's guidelines, putting up a disclaimer such as this doesn't remedy any copyright actions. Even if they are not monetizing off the channel itself, I'm having a hard time understanding how some channels stay around while some get ban hammered into oblivion.
Is anyone well versed in this part of the YouTube-verse?
