So. As i'm sure some of us know, the Sou route is super affected by Murphy's Law and has a lot of bad stuff happening on it compared to the Kanna route which is all positive (barring the roulette) considering how everything goes well on there. However, unlike some who i have heard on internet that think the Sou route was made out to be a simple bad end route for sacrificing Kanna and choosing by being practical rather than with what's the correct action that would be saving Kanna (even if the game makes out Sara to be hating Sou as the cause for choosing him to save Kanna than saving Kanna because it was the right thing to do) whereas if we sacrifice Sou we get a more happier route. However, here i come to say that i actually liked the Sou route more. Why?:
Because it shows us the full effects of what a killing game can do to people, take in example Ranmaru: On the Kanna route he doesn't go bananas which is underatandable since Sara doesn't insert that idea in his head. However on the Sou route we get to see how Sara could be if Joe wasn't in the game, or in this case she doesn't know he even exists due to what Sou pulled on the end of Chapter 2, which she essentially (even if she wasn't full aware of what she was doing) made Ranmaru decide to kill the Yabusame alive and everyone else so Sara and he could escape. Other point is what happens after the Yabusame's death where we see Sara THIS close to losing it due to it being partially her fault that Alice or Reko die only for Q Taro to be the one who pull her out of it which shows us that in death games, sometimes the help and the enemies can be anyone and come from anywhere and then it comes the peak of it all which is the pre roulette scene with Sou where we see how he says that it doesn't matter either Midori or Sara, the order on who he kills them does (or at least i understood it that way) which shows us how people can break in different ways since Ranmaru broke and became insane, Sou is passive agressive and Sara almost could have become an unrseponsible shell imo. Oh and the other thing to say from that conversation is how we see Sara starting to wonder if the choice at the end of Chapter 2 was a good idea because she caughts on to Sou really intending to kill her and starts to rethink her past choices.
Now, before you say "but what about the Kanna route": Listen, i like a route where things go well and all, but at this point of the game i think the Sou route is more realistic since with Kanna alive everything is more or less happy whereas with Sou we get a truly terrifying death game experience where we don't know where the hell we'll go next. Because that's another thing with the Sou route (at least imo): whereas the Kanna route has probably one direction (with maybe some twists) but only one possible outcome, in the Sou route we don't know what the hell is gonna happen since with Sou basically being an ally till he can kill Sara and us knowing how Sara can truly be if not snapped out of it by Keiji AND how that clasroom scene showed us that Sara depends on Keiji to not lose it (i say only him since Q Taro is dead after CH3) and become selfish and cause a Ranmaru case...there's TONS of possibilities for what could happen and i LOVE that.
Simply put, this above were my reasons for why i like the Sou route more than the Kanna route. Tell me down below what you think of it and if you agree or you don't and why in the comments haha.
