The 3DS was a dead console in 2019 and nobody bothered to buy Yokai Watch 3 because of it. Because of all the trailers and first looks, then reviews, Yokai Watch 4 looked to be a much better game but...they chose not to release it because of how 3 did here.

In 2019, especially during the Sword and Shield Pokemon fall off, people would have been very excited for a high quality monster capture and battling game and Yokai Watch 4 could have swooped in and saved the day. Could it have sold 10 million copies? I doubt it. But 3 to 4, justifying more entries in the future? I'd say so.

It's so disappointing Level-5 made such an incredible game with Yokai Watch 4 and it didn't get the release outside of Japan it deserved so others could see it.
