I recently moved because of an unexpected promotion. It depleted my emergency fund. It’s almost entirely paid back, just need a couple more months. But in my 6 months in my new city I haven’t made any friends.
My birthday is coming up in October and am considering spending a weekend in my old town with friends but down have a vacation category yet. It’ll be good to spend a couple days with people I love for the first time in 6 months.
My instincts say “You’re turning 30, focus on building your EF and retirement.” But my dad, friends, and something deep down, all say “It’s your 30th, you take MAYBE one vacation per year, treat yourself.”
Y’all are thoughtful people who care about finances. I know I should pause my EF payments for 2 month and do this, but need an extra push.
