We have 2 checking accounts, which are both joint but we use and talk about them as his and mine. We also have 2 credit cards, a reg savings, a high yield savings, and an investment account.

Right now we only move money into the savings if it’s for a specific thing, like a trip or glasses or something. Otherwise the money just sits where it was deposited. I’m wondering if there’s a better way of doing this since he makes more, but I spend more. Haha, true stereotypes. But seriously, I make sure the bills are paid, so more money comes out of my account, or sometimes I will pay the credit card by taking some from each checking account.

TL;DR Our set up/system for our actual bank accounts could be better, since some categories have money in multiple accounts. What’s your set up?
